The Notre Dame softball team earned a hard-fought 7-4 win over Bangor on Monday, led by a standout performance from Addison Ryan. Ryan delivered at the plate with two clutch hits, driving in four runs on a two-run home run in the first and a two-run double in the third to spark the Crusaders' offense.
After Bangor briefly took a 4-2 lead in the second inning, the Crusaders responded quickly. In the bottom of the third, back-to-back doubles by Addison Ryan and Sydney Ryan put Notre Dame back in front, 5-4—a lead they would not surrender.
Emily Szczepanski earned the win in the circle, going the distance while allowing four runs (two earned) on 13 hits. She struck out four and walked just one in the complete-game effort.
Offensively, the Crusaders totaled 12 hits. Hannah Lilly set the tone from the leadoff spot, going 3-for-4. Rachel Fisher and Riley Palank also recorded multiple hits to help seal the win.
Notre Dame will look to keep the momentum going as they hit the road to face Palisades on Wednesday.
