The Notre Dame Green Pond boys' track and field team also delivered a remarkable performance, earning victories across multiple disciplines. In the sprints, Alex Clark was the standout, winning both the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.15 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 23.63 seconds. His teammate, Andrew Shupe, also had a strong showing, finishing third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.27 seconds and third in the 200-meter dash in 24.30 seconds. Alexander Pirog dominated the 400-meter race, securing first place with a time of 57.69 seconds.
Notre Dame’s distance runners were equally impressive. Dante Azzolina had a commanding performance, winning both the 800-meter race in 2:22.96 and the 1600-meter run in 5:16.02. Emmett Rieland continued the team’s dominance in the long-distance events, winning the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:05.58.
In the hurdles, Sean Tipton put up a strong fight in the 300-meter hurdles, securing second place with a time of 49.62 seconds, while Gavin Qian finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.49 seconds. The team also had success in the jumping events, with Aaron Gordon leading the way by winning the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 6 inches. Gordon also placed second in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 5 inches.
Notre Dame’s throwers delivered impressive results, with Ethan Weems taking first place in the discus throw with a mark of 127 feet, 10 inches. He also placed second in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 4.5 inches. Marc Bartholomew added to the team’s success by finishing third in the discus with a throw of 125 feet, 11 inches.
The team’s relay squads put on a strong showing, winning all three relay events. The 4x100-meter relay team, featuring Andrew Shupe, Kalet Wilson, Aaron Gordon, and Alex Clark, took first place with a time of 45.69 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team, anchored by Alexander Pirog, Dante Azzolina, Aaron Gordon, and Mark Perone, also claimed victory with a time of 4:04.25. Additionally, the 4x800-meter relay team dominated their race, finishing first in 9:41.52.
