The Notre Dame boys track team put forth a strong effort but ultimately fell to Palisades by a score of 93-57. Despite the loss, the team had several standout performances across multiple events.

Alex Clark showcased his speed by finishing second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.2 seconds and claiming victory in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.1 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, Alexander Pirog ran an impressive 51.6 seconds to take first place, followed closely by Dante Azzolina, who finished in 53.6 seconds to secure second place.

Notre Dame’s distance runners also had a strong showing. Roman Perrucci placed second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:03.4, while Emmett Rieland finished third at 5:05.3. In the 3200-meter run, Noah Sharpe took the top spot with a time of 11:41.8, followed by Darek Schaeffer in second place at 11:44.0.

In the hurdles, Gavin Qian finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.2 seconds, while Sean Tipton placed third in the 300-meter hurdles, running 46.7 seconds.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Aaron Gordon, Dante Azzolina, Alexander Pirog, and Jeremiah Robertson came through with a strong performance, taking first place with a time of 3:41.9. The 4x800 relay team also secured a victory, finishing in 9:11.7.

In the field events, Aaron Gordon cleared 5’9” in the high jump to take first place. In the throws, Joshua Scherer placed second in the shot put with a mark of 40’8”, while Ethan Weems took third at 39’0”. Weems also excelled in the discus throw, placing second with a throw of 124’8.5”, followed by Marc Bartholomew, who finished third at 104’6”.

While the final team score didn’t go in Notre Dame’s favor, the boys put up a fight and delivered several impressive individual performances. They will look to build on this meet and come back stronger next Tuesday at Saucon Valley.
