The Notre Dame girls tennis team faced a tough challenge on the road Wednesday, falling to Moravian Academy, 5-0, in a Colonial League matchup.

Moravian Academy established control in singles play, earning straight-set victories in all three completed matches. Paige Yurik competed at No. 1 singles against Vicky Guo, while Grace Rinaldi faced Emma Cassady at No. 2. Emma Albright battled Anika Mehrotra at No. 3. Moravian secured victories in each match, with Yurik falling 6-4, 6-2, Rinaldi dropping a 6-1, 6-1 decision and Albright falling 6-0, 6-0.

The host Lions also captured both doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Elise Evazzadeh and Julia Bari faced Sophia Mascaro and Sharooni Nimalan, falling 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 2 doubles match, Clo Toso and Ryan Jaffer competed against Danielle Powell and Lily Sturtevant. Moravian earned a 6-0, 1-0 victory before the match concluded due to an ankle injury.

The Crusaders will look to regroup as they continue their season against Colonial League competition facing Salisbury Monday on Senior Day.
